This report relates the excretion of uranium in the urine of workmen to the concentration of uranium dispersed in the air of their work places, when the dispersed particles are separated into the “respirable” and “nonrespirable” fractions. Discussion of and conclusions from the results obtained and published literature are made as related to uranium for the “control value,” biological effects, particle size and distribution, solubility, ICRP recommendations, and usefulness of two-stage air sampling data.
