Valved conduits made from pericardium or ePTFE showed good mobility and no marked calcification or thrombosis at 6 months in a canine model, suggesting potential for surgical palliation of pulmonic stenosis in dogs.

Short-term endothelialization without thrombosis in dogs supports further preclinical work; leaves open clinical translation for pulmonary stenosis.

Shinoda et al. (2015) studied Healthy dogs (model for pulmonic stenosis palliation) (n=4). Valved conduits (autologous pericardium, denacol-treated bioprosthetic valve, ePTFE) was evaluated on Mobility, calcification, and anti-thrombotic properties.
