Artificial intelligence is moving beyond supporting individual tasks towards participating directly in how work is performed. As AI becomes embedded within tasks and workflows, its organisational implications can extend beyond technology adoption into workflows, human contribution, decision-making, accountability, and the wider architecture of work. When AI Redesigns Work examines this transition from AI assistance to participation. Drawing on current research and authoritative sources, the whitepaper explores how AI-enabled changes in individual tasks can propagate through workflows; how human contribution can move towards verification, interpretation, exception handling and judgement; how decision rights and accountability can shift; and how AI can create new forms of organisational work even as other activities are automated. The paper argues that the organisational impact of AI cannot be understood solely through productivity gains or the capabilities of the technology itself. As human and artificial intelligence become increasingly intertwined in performing work, organisations must also examine whether existing arrangements of roles, workflows, decision rights and accountability remain appropriate. This is Whitepaper 03 in the Capability Excellence™ Whitepaper Series: Future of Work & Organisation. It follows Beyond Skills to Capability and leads into Whitepaper 04, The Human–AI Operating Model.
