Bibliometric analysis reveals key structural drivers of green banking across global literature, highlighting actionable pathways to enhance environmental performance.
Green services of banks go beyond corporate social responsibility initiatives; banks need to take a responsible role in supporting and financing environmentally friendly projects for a sustainable economy. This paper aims to identify trends in green banking services and suggests implications and directions for future research. Using the Scopus database, science-mapping techniques applied to bibliometrics, along with data visualization tools such as VOS viewer and RStudio, were used to analyze citation, authorship, keyword co-occurrence, and collaboration networks among countries to identify the underlying clusters of green banking services. Then, 35 selected papers on green services of bank were reviewed using the theories, contexts, and methods (TCM) framework and the antecedents-decisions-outcomes (ADO) model. The study highlights the core theoretical constructs used by researchers. It categorizes green banking services antecedents into three groups: green operations, policy practices, and products & services, while highlighting the actionable environmental performance outcomes. This research will assist scholars, practitioners, and policymakers in gaining a clear understanding of green banking services dynamics and their environmental performance measures.
