Methodological study reveals multidimensional register layouts in Linear A administrative tablets, suggesting standard line transcriptions may overlook grouping structures.
A methodological study of tablet geometry, register structure and administrative layout TABUL-A examines selected Linear A administrative tablets through geometric and positional analysis. It tests whether signs, quantities, and functional groups were organized not only in horizontal line order but also, in some cases, along stable vertical or two-dimensional layout axes. The study covers 1,704 image witnesses, 6,030 line-band candidates, and 14,764 projection candidates. Automatic detections are reported as `projection_scan_v1` candidates; they are neither readings nor decipherments. The principal examples are HT 123+124a, HT 7a, HT 123+124b, and ZA 6a. HT 31 and HT 7b serve as disturbance and short-tablet controls. The most important methodological control comes from HT 7a: an alternative positional assignment changes the administrative grouping while the raw numerical sum remains 10. The result therefore concerns allocation and register structure, not revised arithmetic. TABUL-A is an independent layout-based test considered in relation to the functional-stratification model MOSI-A. The two approaches are evaluated separately and show convergent indications on selected tablets. This does not constitute a decipherment of Linear A and does not justify a global rejection of established sign transcriptions. It indicates only that, on certain administrative tablets, line transcription may be incomplete as the sole representation of quantity and register assignment. The possible role of `*900` is stated cautiously as a local field- or segment-separator hypothesis, not as an established column header or securely identified ancient operator.
