Theoretical modeling demonstrates flat rotation curves arise from local stellar chain gravity in spiral galaxies, eliminating the necessity for dark matter.
The galaxy rotation curve conundrum has been a core fundamental paradox plaguing modern astrophysics for a century. Astronomical observations confirm that the orbital speed of stars in the outer regions of spiral galaxies does not decay with increasing orbital radius, in direct contradiction to predictions derived from traditional central mass gravitational dynamics. To resolve the conflict between theory and observation, mainstream academia has long adopted the hypotheses of dark matter and dark energy. It introduces hypothetical gravitational mass to fix model defects and maintain the internal consistency of conventional galactic dynamics. Rejecting the century old erroneous framework dominated by central mass dynamics, this paper applies core physical reasoning from the Light Origin Theory and constructs a standardized one dimensional radial stellar gravitational chain model. Based on Newton’s inverse square law of universal gravitation, multiple precise quantitative calculations are performed to quantify the magnitude gap between the distant gravitational force from the galactic centre and the superimposed chain gravity of nearby stars in outer galactic regions. This paper fully reproduces the derivation process and core fallacy of traditional dynamics, and accurately explains the origin of the more than 90 percent gravitational mass deficit reported in literature. Quantitative results clearly demonstrate that the orbital binding force acting on outer galaxy stars does not come from the mass concentration at the galactic centre one hundred thousand lightyears away. Instead, it originates from the superimposed short range chain gravitational coupling effect of neighbouring stars in outer galactic zones. Traditional dynamics completely ignores this objectively existing local short range gravitational effect. It artificially creates an apparent stellar acceleration deficit, which further gives rise to the empirically unsubstantiated dark matter and dark energy hypotheses. Combined with rigid observational constraints from steady spiral galaxy arm structures, this work completely resolves the galaxy rotation curve conundrum. From the perspectives of underlying physical mechanism, quantitative numerical calculation and astronomical observational facts, it permanently removes the theoretical necessity for dark matter and dark energy. A new selfconsistent, reproducible galactic dynamics system compatible with classical physical laws is established.
