SUMMARY The segregation of minor embrittling additions of tin and phosphorus to the grain boundaries of an Fe‐3wt%Ni alloy after ageing at 823 K has been measured on thin foils using a Scanning Transmission Electron Microscope (STEM) interfaced with an energy dispersive X‐ray spectrometer. The microanalysis technique is discussed and shown to be useful for measuring grain boundary solute segregations.
