It is the object of this investigation to measure the driving-point admittance, the amplitude distribution of the current, and the phase distribution of the current, relative to the phase at the driving-point for a dipole antenna immersed in a homogeneous conducting medium. Measurements of the driving-point admittance have been made for a range of values of the ratioσ/ωεᵣε₀of the medium taking the electrical height of the antennaβ has a parameter. The ratioσ/ωεᵣε₀is varied fromσ/ωεᵣε₀=0.036toσ/ωεᵣ ε₀=8.8and the antenna heightβ his varied fromβ h=0.1to2 intervals of 0.1. The amplitude and phase distributions of the current have been measured forβ h = π/2, 3π/4, π, and5/4 a homogeneous conducting medium whose conductivity is varied fromσ/ωεᵣ ε₀=0.036toσ/ωεᵣε₀=8.8.
