Amorphous , prepared by thermal decomposition of , has been found to react readily with n‐butyl lithium to give amorphous compositions . In lithium electrochemical cells, cathodes react with 2.5 Li per vanadium above 1.40V on primary discharge at 0.5 mA/cm 2 . Eighty‐five percent of this capacity is recovered on the first recharge to 2.8V also at 0.5 mA/cm 2 . On subsequent cycling the capacity eventually falls to 30% of the initial value with an accompanying change in the voltage composition profile.
