Small‐angle neutron scattering (SANS) by mixtures of labeled and unlabeled polymers is determined by the “contrast factor”. A formulation of this factor and its value for deuterated‐nondeuterated polystyrene and polyethylene systems are given. Some examples of neutron scattering by these systems in the bulk and liquid states indicate that the labeled‐chain signal is important and clearly allows the determination of the single‐chain characteristics.
