O’Brien et al. (2014) conducted an observational in Duchenne muscular dystrophy requiring ventilatory support (n=30). Cardiac management and investigations was evaluated on Adherence to annual cardiac assessment and cardiac function findings. An audit of 30 ventilator-assisted patients with Duchenne muscular dystrophy revealed that only 10% had a cardiology review within the past year, and 11 of 16 assessed patients had LV impairment.
