SUMMARYIn experiments in which the activities of 7 000 pollen-collecting honeybees were recorded when offered a choice of pollens, 20% collcted a mixture (2 years old) of pollens from several species of ground flora, whereas only 3% collected Eucalyptus goniocalyx pollen. There were considerable variations in preference; reasons for these and consequences of them are discussed.
