The addition chlorination products of trans‐1,4‐polybutadiene and cis‐1,4‐polybutadiene are slightly crystalline. The interpretation of the X‐ray fibre patterns has shown that the crystalline segments obtained from trans‐1,4‐polybutadiene are diisotactic poly(erythro‐1,2‐dichloro butamer) while the crystalline segments obtained from cis‐1,4‐polybutadiene are disyndiotactic poly(threo‐1,2‐dichloro butamer).
