The specific heat at constant volume, the paramagnetic spin susceptibility, and the isothermal compressibility of an electron gas at metallic densities and low temperatures are calculated, using an expression for the ground-state energy derived in a previous publication. The numerical results show that the values of the specific heat are lower and those of the spin susceptibility higher than the values obtained by most other authors, while those of the compressibility are nearly the same. A set of Landau parameters are determined. Throughout the calculations the corresponding results in the random-phase approximation are also derived for comparison.
