Experimental study reveals improved volleyball serving and receiving skills in female students under Keller and Marzano models, suggesting modern instructional frameworks outperform standard teaching.
This research aims to identify the impact of the Keller and Marzano models on learning the skills of serving and receiving serves in volleyball, and to determine the superiority of the educational models compared to the standard method. The researcher used an experimental design with equivalent groups, and the sample included (45) female students, with (15) students in each group: two experimental groups that implemented the Keller and Marzano models, and one control group that followed the standard method. The implementation lasted (6) weeks. The results showed statistically significant differences between the pre- and post-tests for all groups, in favor of the post-test (p < 0.05). In the serving test, the mean increased from (2.93) to (7.12) in the Marzano group, from (2.43) to (6.19) in the Keller group, and from (2.58) to (5.63) in the control group. In the transmission reception test, the average increased from (3.22) to (7.38) for the Marzanogroup, from (3.34) to (6.82) for the Keller group, and from (3.10) to (5.35) for the control group. The LSD test showed that Marzano's method outperformed the standard method by 1.49 points in serving and 1.47 points in receiving serves, while Keller's method outperformed the standard method by 2.03 points in receiving serves. The research concludes that modern educational models are effective in improving the learning of basic volleyball skills, with Marzano's model showing superiority in some post-test comparisons. These models also contribute to fulfilling the requirements of Sustainable Development Goal 4 (quality education) by creating an interactive learning environment, organizing the learning structure, and carefully considering the individual abilities of the students.
