Validation study demonstrates construct validity of the adolescent superdiffuser measure in intermediate students, highlighting its utility for selecting peer leaders in school interventions.
We propose that the superdiffuser model offers a good structure for identifying students who are connected, persuasive, and a maven on school topics to promote school-based interventions. We conducted a scale validation study for the new 3-item adolescent superdiffuser measure (N = 632) with intermediate school students. We found preliminary evidence consistent with the validity of the measures such that connectors were likely to have more friends, persuaders were higher in trait argumentativeness, and school mavens had greater sense of voice, self-efficacy for school initiatives, and identification with their school.
