O R T S ~~~ 11 have dealt with the P activity of enzymes in human lymph nodes, thc seat of banal hyperplastic and nonspecific inflammatory processes. It is the purpose of this paper to discuss the distribution of enzymes, demonstrated histochemically, in lymphoid tissue affected by primary neoplastic or related disorders.Particular emphasis will be placed upon the various forms of malignant lymphoma; metastatic neoplastic lesions are excluded from consideration. MATERIALS AND METHODSThe material consisted of 90 lymph nodes procured and processed in a manner described in 2 previous reports.l0S1lThe disorders sampled comprised 71 examples of malignant lymphoma, 4 lymph nodes in mycosis fungoides, 2 in nonlipid histiocytosis, and 13 specimens exhibiting tubercular granulomas (Table 1).The techniques utilized have been described by uS10, 11 and OthersQ, 14-16, 18,20, 27, W 3 G , W39,44,45., 4 9 and were concerned with the demonstration of these enzymes: nonspecific esterase, acid phosphatase, alkaline phosphatase, 5'-nucleotidase, phosphamidase, polyphosphatase (rpase), aminopeptidase, adenosine triphosphatase (ATPiISe), glucose-6-phosphatase (cd-ptase), succinic dehydrogenase (SDH), monoamine oxidase (MAO); diphosphopyridine
