Computational simulation reveals the impact of rib profiles on duct resistance in ship engine rooms, indicating optimization strategies for fan static pressure design.
Optimizing the T-shaped profiles and bulb flat in the structural air duct is of great significance for reducing the resistance of the structural air duct and ensuring the normal and safe operation of the equipment in the ship engine room. This study employs FLUENT software to simulate the structural air duct of the ship, examining the impact of different inlet velocities, different lengths of T-shaped profiles, and different lengths of bulb flat on the resistance of the structural air duct. Meanwhile, based on the analysis of simulation results, structural optimization is carried out. The resistance of structural air ducts under different optimization schemes is simulated and calculated to analyze the feasibility of each structural optimization scheme. Furthermore, provide the resistance of structural air ducts with different lengths and sizes under different inlet velocities, serving as a reference for the subsequent design of static pressure of fans.
