Delphica 3. The Monument of the “ Navarchs” The monument called “ of the Navarchs”, raised at Delphi by Lysandros after the victory over the Athenians at Aigos-Potamoi (405 BCE), has long been known from texts and from inscribed blocks belonging to the base of the statue. Several localisations and architectural reconstitutions have been proposed on the basis of a documentation often inexact or badly understood and always incomplete. Criticism of the principal hypotheses. A more extensive knowledge of the sector and of the totality of elements, including the construction blocks uncovered by the excavation, allows presenting, if not a unique and certain reconstruction, then at least an array of more likely solutions.
