For many years, induction machines operating in the balanced steady state have been represented for analysis by the conventional “T” form of equivalent circuit. Simplification of this circuit to expedite analysis has normally involved approximation This paper presents a number oE simplified equivalent circuits which preserve the accuracy of the “T” circuit and to some extent improve on it by more appropriate representation of saturation and core loss. Experimental confirmation of this improvement is included. The new circuits are denoted as “T” and “inverse-T” because of their inductance configuration.
