Previous measurements of the angular emission of Auger electrons from a clean Cu(110) surface, using a Faraday cup retarding‐field analyzer, have revealed large intensity variations as a function of either polar or azimuthal angle. Additional measurements of the angular Auger electron emission for both the 62‐eV M2,3VV and 107‐eV M1VV transitions from the Cu(100) surface which exhibit variations of similar magnitude are reported. Some of these data are compared with similar observations by McDonnell, Woodruff, and Holland and with results of their single‐scattering diffraction calculation. The effects of variation of incident beam energy and angle also have been investigated and these data are presented and discussed.
