Sodium, K, Ca and Mg concentrations of turkey uterine fluid were determined. The cation composition (expressed in m M/liter) of fluid from 11 hens carrying shell-less eggs averaged: Na 100.9; K 17.3; Ca 3.7 and Mg 1.0. The concentration of these ions in fluid from 15 hens carrying hard-shelled eggs averaged: Na 37.4; K 73.6; Ca 5.9 and Mg 7.9. Fluid from hens carrying hard-shelled eggs averaged 0.2% protein, pH 8.3 and had an osmotic pressure of 263 milliosmoles per liter.
