Coronary artery bypass grafting surgery yielded a beneficial effect in 73.1% of patients with non-ST elevation acute coronary syndrome at 48 months.

What are the predictors of recurrent myocardial ischemia in patients with NSTE-ACS following CABG?
In patients with NSTE-ACS undergoing CABG, recurrent ischemia is associated with younger age, prior severe angina, off-pump surgery, and continued smoking.
Supports CABG benefit in NSTE-ACS; leaves open validation of recurrent ischemia predictors in prospective studies.
The short- and long-term outcome of coronary artery bypass grafting surgery (CABG) in 130 patients with non-ST elevation acute coronary syndrome (NEST ACS) is presented. 73,1 % of patients had the benefi cial CABG effect towards the end of 48-month follow-up. We observed increasing recurrent angina rate with time after CABG. The recurrent myocardial ischemia after urgent CABG is associated with younger age, severe angina in past, off-pump CABG performing and keep on smoking after myocardial revascularization.

Korzhenevskaya et al. (2009) conducted a cohort in non-ST elevation acute coronary syndrome (NEST ACS) (n=130). Coronary artery bypass grafting surgery (CABG) was evaluated on Beneficial CABG effect. Coronary artery bypass grafting surgery yielded a beneficial effect in 73.1% of patients with non-ST elevation acute coronary syndrome at 48 months.
