Key result
TEVAR performed in the early chronic phase of type B aortic dissection achieved a significantly higher rate of complete thoracic false lumen shrinkage compared to the late chronic phase (60% vs 11%, p<0.05).

Does TEVAR improve early and mid-term outcomes and aortic remodeling in patients with chronic Type B Aortic Dissection?
TEVAR provides favorable mid-term outcomes and good aortic remodeling in patients with chronic Type B aortic dissection.
Answers are grounded in this paper and cite their sources.
May favor early chronic-phase TEVAR for remodeling in type B dissection; hypothesis-generating, prospective trials needed.

Mizoguchi et al. (2017) conducted a cohort in Chronic type B aortic dissection (n=38). Early chronic phase TEVAR (2 weeks to 4 months from onset) vs. Late chronic phase TEVAR (>4 months from onset) was evaluated on Complete shrinkage of the thoracic false lumen (p=<0.05). TEVAR performed in the early chronic phase of type B aortic dissection achieved a significantly higher rate of complete thoracic false lumen shrinkage compared to the late chronic phase (60% vs 11%, p<0.05).
