Efficient Synthesis of New Functionalized Styryltellane Derivatives

Efficient selective syntheses of new functionalized styryltellane derivatives were developed based on the electrophilic addition of (Z)-2-chloro-2-phenylvinyltellurium trichloride to 1-alkenes and internal alkynes. The synthesis of alkyl (Z)-2-chloro-2-phenylvinyltellanes was carried out by the generation of (Z)-2-chloro-2-phenylvinyltellurolate anion, which was involved in the nucleophilic substitution reaction with alkyl halides.
