Does imidapril modify endogenous fibrinolysis in patients with recent myocardial infarction?
Imidapril modifies endogenous fibrinolysis in post-MI patients, with effects occurring after the inhibition of serum ACE activity.

Imidapril may enhance fibrinolytic balance post-MI; extends ACE inhibitor pleiotropy beyond hemodynamics in secondary prevention.
Soejima et al. (1997) conducted an RCT in recent myocardial infarction (n=30). imidapril vs. placebo was evaluated on Serum ACE activity and plasma fibrinolytic variables (PAI activity, PAI-1 antigen level, and TPA antigen level). Imidapril significantly decreased serum ACE activity and reduced PAI activity and PAI-1 antigen levels compared to placebo in patients 4 weeks post-uncomplicated myocardial infarction.
