The Radon transform is a popular tool for regularization and preprocessing of seismic data prior to migration, AVO analysis, and stratigraphic interpretation. The most common uses of the Radon transform are to suppress ground roll, incoherent noise, and multiples. Suppression of coherent noise greatly facilitates prestack migration velocity analysis.
