SYNOPSIS. Cultures of Prymnesium parvum subjected to constant illumination failed to produce ichthyotoxin. On the other hand cultures subjected to alternate periods of light and darkness showed a gradually rising ichthyotoxic activity during the dark period reaching a maximum after about 7 hours.
