Experimental study demonstrates precise measurement of adsorption-induced deformation in microporous carbon under methane, indicating high-pressure structural responses.
A technique for measuring adsorption-induced deformations is developed. A schematic diagram of the plant for measuring the adsorption deformation of an adsorbent in a 0-to 20-MPa gas-phase pressure range with a confident measurement error of ±5 × 10 −7 m is described. The results of measuring the adsorption deformation of an ACC microporous carbonic adsorbent during the methane adsorption in 177.65-to 393.00-K temperature and 0-to 6-MPa pressure ranges are given.
