All articles of this category Reaction of molybdenum trioxide with hydrogen peroxide followed by 1,3-dimethyl-3,4,5,6-tetrahydro-2-(1 H )-pyrimidinone (DMPU) gave the complex MoO 5 . DMPU. H 2 O. Dehydration followed by reaction with one equivalent of pyridine afforded the stable crystalline complex MoO 5 . Py. DMPU (MoOPD), the structure of which was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction. This complex has been used as an efficient oxidant of enolates to α-hydroxy carbonyl compounds.
