The reaction of 3-(3-arylacryloyl)-2H-chromen-2-ones with a double excess of methyl 1-bromocyclohexanecarboxylate and zinc, followed by hydrolysis of the reaction mixture, yielded adducts across the double bond of the heterocyclic fragment, which exist in the enolic form. For more reliable signal assignment in the NMR spectra of the product, two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy (COSY, HSQC, and HMBC) was employed. The structures of the synthesized compounds were confirmed by X-ray crystallography data. The analgesic (antinociceptive) activity of the synthesized compounds was evaluated.
