No immediate clinical implications; extends sequence data on nepoviral satellite RNAs while leaving functional roles open.
Rubino et al. (1990) studied Chicory yellow mottle virus (CYMV) infection. Nucleotide sequencing and structural analysis was evaluated on Nucleotide sequence and structural characteristics of sCYMV-L1 and sCYMV-S1. Sequencing of two satellite RNAs associated with CYMV revealed a larger 1145-nucleotide RNA coding for a 39,636 Mr protein and a smaller 457-nucleotide RNA with no significant open reading frame.
