All correspondence relating to this article should be sent tocardiopulse@unicatt.it Progress and innovation have been the defining themes of 2022 for the European Heart Journal (EHJ), according to latest reports. The annual EHJ editorial board meeting held alongside the ESC Congress in Barcelona, Spain, at the end of August heard how the Journal had developed over the space of a year. Editor-in-Chief Filippo Crea, MD, told the hybrid meeting how the Journal now had the biggest and most ambitious editorial board to date. There are currently eight executive editors and 13 co-editors who act as ambassadors of the Journal in their respective areas across the globe. Deputy and associate editors cover the main areas of expertise in cardiology while section editors take care of their content areas. Prof. Crea said: ‘This complex editorial machine works perfectly thanks to the ongoing commitment of an impeccable editorial office in Zurich, Rome, and the United States. Importantly, EHJ is the flagship of the largest cardiovascular journal family in the world with 14 accompanying titles. The cooperation within the journal family is intense and fruitful.’
