As a sympathetic stimulant it produces mydriasis and piloerection (Alles1; Prinzmetal and Bloomberg2; Myerson, Loman and Dameshek3). It raises both blood and spinal fluid pressure, the rise being maintained for a longer period than after injection of the other two drugs (Alles1; Piness, Miller and Alles4; Hartung and Munch5; Tainter6; Myerson, Loman and Dameshek3). Like these drugs, it increases the number of erythrocytes and leukocytes in the blood, and to a lesser extent the...References1.
