Up to 3 moles of Li are inserted per mole of V 2 O 5 · 0.5 H 2 O xerogel (XRG), as shown by concurrent charge and mass measurements with a quartz crystal microbalance. Further, it is demonstrated that only Li + ions are intercalated from the electrolyte, without cointercalation by other species in LiClO 4 solutions in propylene carbonate.
