Laser ignition of primary explosives presents a more reliable alternative to traditional electrical initiation methods. However, at present, laser-ignitable metal complex-based igniters still suffer from weak detonation capabilities and high minimum laser initiation energy ( E min ) values. In this study, we selected a triazole tetrazole ligand (5-(5-azido-1 H -1,2,4-triazol-3-yl)-1 H -tetrazol-1-ol = AzTTO) containing high-energy groups azide and hydroxyl and prepared two laser-sensitive agents Cu(AzTTO) 2 ] n ·2H 2 O (ECC-1) and [Zn(AzTTO)(4-ATr)] n (ECC-2). Results show that ECC-1 exhibited ultralow laser detonation threshold ( E min = 5.5 mJ) and ultrafast corresponding ignition delay time ( T min = 0.028 ms) under 808 nm laser irradiation. In addition, 20 mg of ECC-1 and ECC-2 successfully detonated 50 mg of HMX.
