Three cases of transient blindness following ketamine anesthesia are presented. The average duration of this phenomenon was about 25 minutes, with total visual recuperation and no sequelae. We believe that the locus of the disturbance is in the lateral geniculate body, the optic radiations, or the visual cortex, but the mechanism of action is yet to be determined.
