The sensitivity of Ahnert’s (1973) slope development model to small changes in parameter values is established. Constants to which the model is sensitive are shown to be those controlling the rate of weathering, the proportion of chemical to mechanical weathering and the intensity coefficients for the simple and complex wash processes. Simulated profiles also show that the model is sensitive to the combination of downslope transportation modes used.
