Adds rare case of mobile right atrial thrombus mimicking myxoma; leaves open optimal management pending larger prospective data.
Case Report (n=1)
This case highlights the rare presentation of a pedicled mobile right atrial thrombus mimicking a myxoma, which was successfully managed with surgery and postoperative anticoagulation.
Li et al. (2016) conducted a case report in Pedicled mobile thrombus in the right atrium (n=1). Surgery and anticoagulant therapy (low molecular heparin and warfarin) was evaluated on Recovery and recurrence of right atrial thrombus. Surgical removal followed by anticoagulant therapy resulted in good recovery with no recurrence of right atrial thrombus at 3 months in a 42-year-old male.
