Supports surgical resection for symptomatic massive LV lipomatous infiltration; leaves open natural history and indications in asymptomatic cases.
Case Report (n=1)
This report describes the first case of massive lipomatous infiltration of the left ventricle to be diagnosed in vivo and successfully treated with surgical resection.
Izumi et al. (1986) conducted a case report in Massive lipomatous infiltration to the left ventricle (n=1). Surgical resection was evaluated on Symptom resolution and successful resection. Surgical resection of a massive lipomatous infiltration of the left ventricle, initially mimicking a cardiac tumor, resulted in complete symptom resolution and return to work.
