There is much discussion today on whether the machine will run man or man run the machine. This debate has spilled over into the educational field. For example, Francis Keppel, former U.S. Commissioner of Education, once said: ‘I'll accept the machine as a replacement for a teacher when it can run a birthday party for my young daughter, when it can comfort a sick child or encourage a child who needs assistance. Then I'll go along with the idea that a machine is as good as a teacher’.
