Novel domestic ELISA for avian metapneumovirus yields 100% sensitivity and specificity in poultry sera.
Why the study?
Diagnostic kits for metapneumovirus infection in Ukrainian farms were lacking and imported systems were cost-prohibitive, creating a need for domestic diagnostic methods.
A domestic ELISA test system was developed for detecting avian metapneumovirus infection in Ukrainian veterinary practice.

Tsinoviy et al. (2021) studied Avian metapneumovirus infection. Domestic ELISA test system vs. Commercial IDEXX ELISA kit and RNGA was evaluated on Sensitivity and specificity of the ELISA test system. The newly developed domestic ELISA test system for avian metapneumovirus infection demonstrated 100% sensitivity and 100% specificity in detecting antibodies in poultry sera.
