The crystal structure of N-(p-bromophenyl)sydnone has been determined. The compound crystallizes in space group P1, with two molecules in the unit cell. The sydnone ring system is found to be planar within the limits of accuracy. The N-phenyl bond is (almost) coplanar with the sydnone ring, but the phenyl ring is rotated about this bond so that the planes of the phenyl ring and the sydnone ring contain a dihedral angle of 27.6 °.
