CARROLL, T.J., S. RIEK, and R.G. CARSON. Corticospinal responses to motor training revealed by transcranial magnetic stimulation. Exerc. Sports Sci. Rev., Vol. 29, No. 2, pp. 54-59, 2001. Transcranial magnetic stimulation was recently used to investigate the nature of adaptations that occur in the central nervous system in response to motor training. In this report, we provide a brief description of transcranial magnetic stimulation and discuss its potential as a tool for identifying corticospinal responses to exercise.
