Aerospora in a pine forest has been studied both qualitatively and quantitatively by the. culture plate method. A total of 52 types of fungus were recorded in the 2-year study and the members of Fungi imperfecti constituted maximum spores. The spores were observed to be most numerous in the rainy season and minimum in winter. The effect of meteorological factors on seasonal periodicity has also been discussed. A major contributor was Alternaria alternata. It occurred throughout the year but was especially abundant in summer. Aspergillus fumigatus, A. funiculosus, A. niger, Cladosporium cladosporioides, Curvularia lunata and C. pallescens were also frequently encountered during the study.
