This paper is a description of a sociology methods course which attempts to synthesize the three basic functions of the Land Grant University-education, research, and service. The course is designed to.(a) teach prospective change agents in the area of community action research; (b) perform research in a host community; and (c) relate the research findings to service programs of the university and other agencies.
