We review recent experimental results and phenomenological models of the electron–phonon interaction in high‐Tc superconductors as seen by angle‐resolved photoemission (ARPES). We focus on the relatively higher doped systems for which the data is reminiscent of a single phonon process and highlight evidence for the relevance of several specific phonon modes to these materials.
