Peck Chair in International Communication at Stanford University where he teaches Communication and Political Science and is the Director of the Center for Deliberative Democracy. He is the author of When the People Speak (Oxford, 2009) as well as of The Voice of the People (Yale, 1995) and Democracy and Deliberation (Yale, 1991). With various collaborators he has helped conduct Deliberative Polls 13 in many countries around the world, including the US, Britain, Australia, Denmark, Canada, Bulgaria, Hungary, China, Thailand, Japan, Brazil, and Argentina.
