Mosquitocidal plants known for their ability to kill and repel mosquitoes depend on their chemical composition to be effective. However, the production and abundance of these chemical compounds are increasingly threatened by major environmental changes.Warmer temperatures, increased UV-B radiation, elevated CO 2 levels and altered precipitation patterns are major factors that can influence the balance of these phytochemicals. In addition, pollution and other anthropogenic activities such as dust pollution can cause physiological stress for plants and consequently affect phytochemicals production. These changes have a huge impact on the use of traditional remedies available to locals, reliance on chemical insecticides, disease transmission, and environmental degradation among others.Addressing these issues requires a multifaceted approach involving research, adaptation strategies, community involvement, and sustainable cultivation practices. This review highlights the importance of understanding how environmental factors are affecting mosquitocidal plants and stresses the need for adaptive strategies to ensure their continued efficacy.Conclusively, preserving the efficacy of mosquitocidal plants necessitates an integrative effort involving scientific advancements and community-based initiatives to combat the dynamic challenges posed by environmental changes.
