The relations between globalization and territories are contradictory, they seem to deny and to reinforce them at the same time. On the one hand it seems that the generalized competition between all territories of the world, thanks to the increased mobility of goods, capital and information, puts them all on the same plan. But it also reinforces the territoriality, with the market of "embedded" products, especially in the agribusiness sector. Territory becomes more and more a commodity, "sold" for consumption on the spot or remotely, and globalization thus induces, at the same time, a de-territorialization and a re- territorialization of the World.
